About A Better Banning.

We grew up here. We’re running for City Council because we want our neighbors to be able to build a good life in Banning.

Marco Santana

Marco brings deep roots in Banning and practical experience helping people build a more stable life. His work connects people with housing, trade training, and jobs. In 2021, he advised the young researchers behind Our Future Banning, a report shaped by conversations with residents. That work reflects his commitment to helping neighbors have a voice in their city’s future.

He’s running in District 4 to bring that experience and commitment to City Hall, so more families can afford to stay, find good work, and build a future in the place they call home.

Chris Castorena

Chris has put his education and experience to work for the city that raised him. He grew up on Banning’s Eastside, graduated from Banning High, and became the first in his family to graduate from college. He earned a master’s in public policy at UC Riverside and now chairs the Planning Commission. In 2023, he wrote the ordinance that created Banning’s first city youth council, giving young people a place in local government.

Chris also cares for his father, a Vietnam veteran. He’s running in District 5 to put his policy experience to work for more affordable living, good jobs, and development that benefits the people already here.

A Better Banning

Neighbors working together since 2020.

A Better Banning began with neighbors helping each other. The work grew to include mutual aid, Cafecitos, youth projects, and Little Free Libraries. Many people made it happen. Today, Marco and Chris share their plan here, with the records you can use to check it.
